Praises:

Jesus Film teams continue to report amazing stories of salvation and deliverance. One young man who accepted Christ as his Savior said that even though he was dying from AIDS he has found new life in Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord for His power to bring hope in all situations.

 

Puerto Rico had a wonderful youth congress called CONCAR for the Spanish Field. We are grateful for the work of Rev. Andres Hernandez the Spanish Field Strategy Coordinator.

 

Caribbean Nazarene College is experiencing record enrollments this fall. Praise the Lord for young men and women being educated in the truths of Jesus Christ. Pray that scholarships can be given to students who could otherwise not afford to attend.

 

Praise the Lord for a healthy grandbaby girl for Reverend and Mrs. Carlos de la Cruz, District Superintendent in the Dominican Republic. They were able to be present for the birth in the Ohio, but must now return home to care for her mother who is struggling with colon cancer.

 

Field Strategy Coordinators from around the world had a successful meeting last week in Kansas City. Please pray for the Lord to continue to encourage them and guide them as they work to build His Kingdom.

We praise the Lord for great children and teen camps throughout the Caribbean this summer. Also, wonderful reports of the Lord’s work were received about Beth Luthye as the "missionary in residence" for camp in the northwest United States, Dave and Rosie Kerr at the S. Florida children’s camp and Phil and Denise Anderson for the S. Florida teen camp.

Prayer Requests:

Pray for revival among the people of the Caribbean--for salvation, deliverance, sanctification, and total transformation by the power of Jesus Christ.

Please pray that the Lord will send us volunteers to help at the regional office with administrative and ministry needs. Pray for God to provide his perfect helpers to strengthen our team.

Many Work and Witness teams have come to Dominica to help with the construction of a new Nazarene retreat facility. Pray for Rev. Dan and Brenda Hopkins as they host these many teams this summer.

 

Pray for Bill and Martha Dawson, French Field Strategy Coordinators, as they will be traveling to Haiti August 2nd-14th. Continue to lift up the work of the church in Haiti as the Lord continues to do great things in the midst of very difficult financial and social situations.

 

We ask that the Lord will lead people to contribute financially to the compassionate ministry projects that are taking place throughout the Caribbean. We also need funds to cover the cost of a Work and Witness truck and bus. Please pray for God’s provision in these areas.

 

Pray for Rev. Monte Cyr, Regional NYI Coordinator, as he participates in various youth training events and camps around the Caribbean and will be traveling until August 19th.

 

Also pray for Wendy Lopez, Regional Financial Coordinator, as she travels to the Dominican Republic next week to help at the Spanish Field office.
