Praise God for His blessings of new life into the world.
Caribbean Regional Office is happy to announce the arrival of Graysen Kate Luthye at 12:15 pm EST, Tuesday, December 1, 2009. She weighed 7lbs 12oz, and was 20 3/4" long. Beth and Graysen are doing great. Curt is enjoying his new baby girl.
 
Praises from NYI:
Great Youth Leaders Training Retreat in Guyana.
Haiti HIV/AIDS prevention training went well.
Continued spiritual and numerical growth among the youth of the Caribbean.
 
Praise that God heals. Pastor Livernier T. Doreus' (district superintendent for Lower NW district in Haiti) daughter had a brain disease which caused memory loss, she could not study. Because of the prayers lifting her up she is getting better and is able to continue with her studies in medicine.
 

The All Saints Church of the Nazarene burned on Sunday July 12, 2009. Continue to pray that they will be able to rebuild and get everything back to normal as soon as possible. We praise God because He answers prayers. There are two work and witness teams that are planning to come and rebuild the church.

 
LeeAllie Buchanan is now volunteering in the Caribbean Region and assisting with Compassionate Ministries. She will serve for one year.
Jennifer Lester is now volunteering in the Caribbean Region and assisting with Dutch Caribbean. She will serve for one year.
 
Caribbean partnerships are developing.
 
The Trinidad and Tobago District launched NYI website. 
 
Prayer Requests:
 
Pray for the "Choose Life" training which is to educate the youth and others about AIDS which will kick off in Haiti in April. The end of March the leaders from each district in Haiti will come together to be trained in how to present the information to their youth and communities. Be in prayer that nothing will hinder this opportunity for the leaders to be trained and that hearts will be open to hear what the Lord has to share with them through the message presented to them.

Be in prayer as District assemblies are held around the region. May God provide wisdom in votes and guidance as new people step into new roles on their district.

Pray for the people in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti and the surrounding communities was hit Tuesday afternoon, January 12 with a magnitude 7.3 earthquake. Please be in prayer for the Haitian people and the Nazarene churches in Haiti. Pray for those injured in the debris. Also remember to pray for all those helping in the relief effort.  Be in prayer for William Lamb, work and witness coordinator for Belize, and his family. His father-in-law passed away December 24. William's father-in-law was only recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and the family had to take out a loan for the ultimately unsuccessful surgery and to pay for the doctor bills. Pray that God will provide for the funds to pay the bills and bring comfort during this time of loss for this family.
 

Please be in prayer for Lizedny Torres Grandmother she was recently diagnosed with stage four Cancer.  God is the ultimate healer pray that God will heal her and provide comfort and support to the family during this time. Lizedny has been apart of the Caribbean Regional Office staff for this past year.

The Christmas holiday season is a very special time for the churches in Haiti. They would appreciate your prayers that God would continue to bless them more, whether in the spiritual, economic. and social development. The Haiti churchces would like for you to pray for the following departments so they can have a good end of the year and begin the year with great wisdom and blessings by the grace of God. Pray for the Nazarene Youth International in Haiti and the Nazarene Church of Lastic.
 
Pray for Pastor Pierre Benice  Formétus in collaboration with members of the Church she sacrificed a lot during the 8 years that the church was raising funds to build this church pictured below. The church currently does not have the funds to purchase instruments, sound equipment, benches etc.  The church is 300 to 350 in attendence on Sundays and they would like to have instruments for worship. They ask that you would pray that God would provide a way for them to receive the funds to purchase the rest of the items needed for worship.

Pray for Pastor Eric Hitzert in Suriname his home needs some repairs on the roof. This has caused some leaks that have ruined some of his things. Pray that God would provide the tools to fix the problem.

 Pray for Rev. Livernier T. Doreus'(district superintendent for Lower NW district in Haiti) family his son is suffereing from Hepatitis which is not easily healed in Haiti.

 Pray for the  Asia Pasific region is suffering from large scale natural disasters two separate typhoons and now a landslide that has claimed 16 Nazarenes in the Philippines.

Pray for Rudy Prescod Health Concerns.

 
Pray for the Oriental District of the Church of the Nazarene (Dominican Republic) as they prepare to celebrate for their annual rally for the third consecutive year on September 27th "Rally: Commitment to Mission 2009." This event will consist of a day for proclamation, worship, consecrations, and intercession, where the manifestation of the glory of God awaits. This year their goals are the following:
  • An assistance of 1000 Nazarenes to this event.
  • Consencrate 500 Big Brothers that will be praying for the 5000 people.
  • Celebrate evangelistic campaigns spontaneously in all the churches of the district. Between the 27th and 30th of November each Big Brother will invite his 10 Younger Brothers.
  • Gather a harvest of 1000 souls for the Lord.
  • In January, baptize 500 people throughout the district.
  • That the Father be glorified and grant all of our petitions.

Pray that they are able to reach these goals and that they will be provided the funds and resources needed for the event and what is needed to reach out to the people in the Dominican Republic.

This is an urgent call for prayer on behalf of Trinidad and Tobado District Advisory Board Member, Brother Richard Edoo, whose wife was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
 
Sis Lorraine recently underwent surgery to remove the cancer and is scheduled to undergo chemotherapy in the following weeks. Your constamt prayer and support for Brother Edoo and his family during this challenging time will be greatly appreciated.

Pray for Rev. Tajera (Bish) Sewkumar, District Superintendent of the Suriname District. He is bi-vocational as a fisherman. Recently his boat was hijacked by pirates. He lost his engine and the entire catch. These pirates were caught recently (read news story here), but there are several other groups still actively hijacking fishing boats.

Continue to pray for Rev. Orlando Seale and his family after the loss of his youngest son, Ricardo, age 19, who drowned.

Aruba: Pastor Carlo Moise as he leads his church. We are working to purchase the first Nazarene owed property on this island. Pray for this, the continue growth and maturity of the church as they are living out the holiness message.
 

Strengthening Compassionate Ministries throughout the Caribbean. This ministry is now being lead by Beth Luthye.
