Praises:
We praise the Lord for the many donated books and used Sunday School materials that has been donated for use in the Caribbean.

The NMI leaders of the English Caribbean Field had a wonderful meeting in Trinidad and Tobago, and Dr. Dan Ketchum, Global NMI Director, was also able to participate. Pray for the Lord to open doors for Caribbean people who feel called into missions.

Prayer Requests:

Please pray for the countries of the Dominican Republic,  Haiti, Jamaica, and Cuba as they are recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Gustov. Flooding, landslides and other destruction have taken at least 86 lives that are known about so far. Pray for these families and others that are suffering. Pray for the Nazarene church to help those that are hurting. Pray Louisiana and the other areas that have been hit by Gustov.

Pray for the opening of the newly constructed Nazarene high school near Succotz, Belize. The school received a late approval from the Belize government and they are hoping to get the final supplies and furnishings together before school starts in two weeks.

Pray for the Nazarene Bible Colleges and the Caribbean Nazarene College as they will be starting classes soon.

Trinidad and Tobago will be hosting their district NYI camps this week andSuriname will host its NYI camp next week. Pray that the Lord will bring salvation and sanctification in the lives of these young adults.

Rev. Antoine Lewis of Bahamas, Rev. Alfonso Porter of Guyana, and Rev. Orlando Seale of Barbados will be traveling to Colorado for a Holiness Summit. September 7-9. Pray for traveling safety and for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit to take back to the Caribbean.

Pray for Phil and Denise Anderson who have been serving as the Regional Communications Coordinator and Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Coordinator. They have been asked to work at the Africa Regional Office and will begin in January 2009. Pray for the many details of their move and that they will become established easily into their new ministry responsibilities. Their work is appreciated, and they will be greatly missed.

Pray for the available ministries of the Caribbean that God’s chosen coordinators will be able to take on these new responsibilities and follow His direction.

Please pray that the Lord will send us volunteers to help at the regional office with administrative and ministry needs. Pray for God to provide his perfect helpers to strengthen our team.

Pray for the Master Teachers of Jamaica as they will be hosting a Sunday School and Discipleship training event soon. Pray that the teacher and student packets will help empower people to make disciples of all ages for God’s glory.

As preparations for the 2009 General Assembly in Orlando, Florida are underway, we pray for the Lord’s guidance and providence for all the details.
