2008 Hurricane Season

Although TS Hanna was projected to stay north of the already pummeled island of hispaniola, on September 2, she took a turn to the south and is now hovering over the island, causing rain and heavy winds to the already drenched and devastated Haiti.  This eighth storm of the season in the Atlantic and the second within a few days to hit Haiti.  Reports from Haiti NCM indicate that throughout the country, our Nazarene brothers and sisters are being evacuated, their houses are being destroyed and one young member of our church died as a result of the heavy rains.  Please pray for your brothers and sisters in Haiti and the Dominican Republic as well as those affected in Jamaica, the Bahamas and other Caribbean countries by Hurricane Gustav.  This storm season was forcasted to be very active with with two additional storms, Tropical Storms Ike and Josephine making their way across the Atlantic, your prayer and financial support are needed to help our brothers and sisters most affected.
