Haiti, La Reserve, Saint Michelle, Curt, Novemeber 2007 418.jpg
In Haiti it often falls to the
youngest member in the
family to walk up to six hours
a day to get water. It doesn't
have to be that way.

The church at La Reserve started to build a cistern a while ago. The Haiti Water
Project is helping them finish it so they can offer clean water to the children at
their day school and to the families in their mountain community.

At the church at Saint Michel, in the southern peninsula of Haiti, a simple hand-pump
well provides water for the community around them. It also provides water for the kids
at their day school.

Water is necessary for life. For children, it also means the ability to grow and to
learn. It means opportunities for a hopeful future.
